The British stock market has lost the title of Europe’s most valuable stock market to France, data shows.
Data from Bloomberg media attributed Britain’s decline to factors such as the depreciating pound, fears of an economic slowdown in Britain and rising luxury goods sales in France.

This is the first time that Paris has overtaken London in terms of stock markets.
British stocks are worth about $2.821 trillion (2.3 trillion pounds), while French stocks are worth about $2.823 trillion, according to Bloomberg.
Notably, in 2016, the value of the London stock market was 1.4 trillion more than the value of the French stock market.
