Moscow: France has taken the initiative to ease the Ukraine-Russia conflict. French President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Moscow today for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Macron said he hoped the meeting with Puch would help ease tensions. Earlier, Puchin had a phone conversation with Macron.

Macron, who will arrive in Ukraine after meeting with Puchin, will also meet with President Vladimir Selensky. Meanwhile, Ukraine has come out against the US statement, citing intelligence sources, that three and a half million people, including half a million civilians, would be killed in the war.

Ukraine’s defense minister has called for an end to speculation. Meanwhile, the United States has deployed 1,700 more troops to Poland as part of a drive to strengthen NATO. 300 troops have also been sent to Germany.
