The single, which explores the complexities of modern love, earned him first prize in the Rock10elode – Green Music Contest.

Navigating the Cycle of Toxic Relationships
What does “Boomerang” say about the challenges of healthy relationships in today’s world?
“boomerang” centers on the desire to break free from damaging dynamics, stifling expectations, and controlling behaviors, advocating for a return to genuine and uninhibited feelings. It’s an invitation to rediscover the simplicity of love,acknowledging how we often complicate matters,oscillating between joy and pain-like a boomerang inevitably returning to its origin. “‘Boomerang’ is a song born by chance: I was lying on the mattress in my maternal grandparents’ bedroom when a melody and the phrase ‘let me amaze and then believe in your fantasies’ came to mind,” La Mattina explained. “In this song I write all my desire to eliminate and denounce the toxicity of love relationships. The hope is to return to loving in a simple way, to fall in love and be romantic in a direct way, without too many twists, escapes, fantasies or jealousy, in a world that seems to accept and suffer a system that in reality shoudl not impose rules on feelings. The only thing that is really necessary is to respect yourself and always be yourself.”
The single is written and performed by Francesco La Mattina, with artistic production by Fabio Rizzo for Indigo Studios. The accompanying video is directed by Costante La Bruna for Costantementefilm, with organizational coordination by Gianni Zichichi.
La Mattina’s artistic journey began with writing prose poems,evolving in 2020 to incorporate the guitar as a vehicle for transforming his written work into songs. As then, the artist has independently developed his project, overseeing both the creative and musical aspects of his identity. In 2025,he participated in the Rock10elode – Green Music Contest,a platform dedicated to supporting emerging talent. “boomerang” secured him the contest’s top prize, which included recording the song at Indigo studios with Palermo producer Fabio Rizzo.
