Francis will receive relatives of Palestinians attacked in Gaza and Hamas hostages

Next week at the Vatican, Pope Francis will receive relatives of Palestinians attacked in Gaza by the Israeli army and a group of relatives of hostages held captive by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas since October 7.

“I can confirm that on the morning of Wednesday, November 22, on the sidelines of the general audiencePope Francis will meet at separate times with a group of relatives of Israelis held hostage in Gaza and with a group of relatives of Palestinians suffering from the conflict in Gaza,” papal spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement.

According to Bruni, “with these meetings, exclusively humanitarian in naturePope Francis wants to demonstrate his spiritual closeness to the suffering of each one.”
