“The storage conditions were sometimes extremely risky, and the potential danger for employees and residents was considerable,” explained a senior operations manager. “Thanks to the rapid, coordinated action of all forces involved, we were able to avert a serious threat to public safety.”

Investigations have been launched against the operators of the businesses and the large warehouse where the nitrous oxide was discovered. Authorities are focusing on potential violations related to the storage and distribution of the substance.
A leading figure from the Frankfurt Prevention Council emphasized the serious health risks associated with nitrous oxide. “’Lachgas’ is not a harmless party gas,” they stated. “It endangers health, life and safety – especially of young people – that is why we act decisively before damage occurs.”
