Two awards for Germans

Two Ig Nobel Prizes went to German scientists this year. The Ig Nobel Prize for Chemistry, for example, went to a team that, together with researchers from Great Britain, New Zealand, Greece, Cyprus and Austria, investigated whether the plot of a film influences the composition of the exhaled air of viewers. The aim of the study was to use this metric to classify films by age. However, the researchers could only prove that their method is not suitable for this.

The Ig Nobel Prize for Medicine also went to a team in which two Germans worked. Together with scientists from Turkey and Great Britain, they investigated how sexual activity affects a nasal congestion.
