Freezing rain possible for Wednesday and Thursday, according to Environment Canada | Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean

Environment Canada has issued a warning of a possible freezing rain for Wednesday and Thursday over several sectors of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.

A warm front associated with a depression from the Prairies will cross Quebec on Wednesday and Thursday and which will cause an episode of freezing rain that could develop along the front and affect western, southern and central Quebec.

According to Environment Canada, there could be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Surfaces such as roads, streets, sidewalks and parking lots could become icy, slippery and dangerous.

The following areas of the region are expected to be affected by freezing rain:

  • Alma – Desbiens sector
  • Ashuapmushuan wildlife reserve sector
  • Normandin – Péribonka sector
  • Saint-Félicien – Roberval sector

It is therefore important to plan your trips for the days of Wednesday and Thursday.
