The 90s were a time when the Indian automobile market was dominated by bikes, with very few options for scooters. However, Kinetic Honda, a partnership between Kinetic and Honda, changed that by introducing scooters in the market in the 90s. While the company faced setbacks and was discredited, it is now making a strong comeback with the launch of electric scooters that will be entirely manufactured in India.

The new electric scooter comes with front apron mounted LED lighting, DRLS facility, and a semi-sporty design that appeals to both families and youngsters. In terms of structural features, it has front telescopic fork, rear dual shock, front and rear disc brakes.

Equipped with a 2.27 KWH lithium-ion battery pack and a hub motor with a power capacity of 2.8 BHP, the scooter can travel up to 104 kilometers on a single full charge and has a top speed of 60 KMPH. It measures 1830mm in length, 715mm in width, 1,135mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,360mm, ground clearance of 160mm, and weighs 93kg with a lifting capacity of up to 150kg.

The scooter is priced at a starting price of Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom) and will be competing with Ola S1X+ and Okinawa Praise Pro scooters. It is set to go on sale in early 2024.

Kinetik Green has set an ambitious target of selling 10 lakh electric scooters in the next 5 years. The company’s next launch is the eLuna, an electric scooter with a higher capacity, according to the chairman. Additionally, the company has partnered with Lamborghini to produce electric golf carts, which will be manufactured in India and exported abroad.

This marks a significant shift for Kinetic Green and the Indian automobile market as a whole, as electric vehicles continue to gain traction in the country.
