From tomorrow, our town festival will be in full swing in Chennai

DMK During the last Pongal festival in 2007, the Chennai Sangam program was started. This program was held till Pongal festival in 2011. Chennai Sangam was not held after that.

In this case, after 11 years, the program ‘Chennai Sangamam-Namma Uru Festival’ is taking place this year. The inaugural ceremony will be held tomorrow (Friday) at Chennai Island.

Following this, the ‘Namma Ooru Festival’ program is being held in 16 places in Chennai for 4 days from 14th to 17th. 600 village artistes participate in these events which can be seen on beaches and parks.

Island, Kolathur Municipal Corporation Sports Ground, Perambur Murasoli Maran Membhala Park, Rayapuram Robinson Park, Rageswara Rao Park, Semmozhi Park, Sindathirippet Municipal Corporation Sports Ground, Nungampakkam Tennis Sports Ground, Annanagar Tower Park, KK Nagar Sivan Park, Thiruvanmiyur Beach Road, Saitappettai Government Boys High School sports are held at Thital, T. Nagar Natesan Park, Elliott’s Beach, May Day Park, Egmore Museum etc. The programs will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm daily.

Music composer Santhosh Narayanan will be performing with village artistes tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

In this Namma Uru festival, more than 30 artistic programs including Karakattam, Kavadiyattam, Tappattam Poikkal Udya, Wailatam and Terukoothu are conducted.
