The first time the belgium band stepped on the Mexico City It was an almost heroic act. It was 1991 and massive rock concerts – in some way – continued to be veiledly prohibited… almost demonized, after that “scandal” called Avándaro in 1971 and the 80s where punk and disco music completely seduced the youth and scandalized them. to the more mature generations.

And it was just in 1991 when Front 242, an EBM (electric body music) combo, gave a concert at the Ángela Peralta Theater in Polanco. That musical scene of the 90s that impacted Mexicans through bands like Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy, VNV Nation, 32CRASH, Covenant and Anne Clark seems very distant in terms of time, but the force with which they burst through of industrial sounds mixed with drum machines, distortions and loops (and even an extremely peculiar aesthetic full of martial aspects) has not yet faded away and proof of this is that one last session is approaching to remember the “old times”.

Front 242 will perform on May 3 at the Palacio de los Deportes Pavilion, with Front Line Assembly, a Canadian electro, industrial and EBM band, as guests.
