Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan defended the Rs 2 fuel cess announced in the state budget. Chief Minister said that fuel cess is for better life and the effort is to provide better life to the people. Trying not to hurt people but to help more.
It is a trap created by the media that the fuel cess will be reduced by Rs. This is the government’s decision, not the chief minister’s insistence. The Chief Minister said that the state has only liquor and fuel to spare, and asked if he did not know that there were no other means. He also stated that it is absurd that 42 lakhs were spent on the cattle shed at Cliff House.
