Kuwait City: Health Minister Dr. Khaled Al Zeit clarified.
The minister’s remarks were made in a press release on the occasion of ‘World Patient Safety Day’. He said that patient safety is one of the most important priorities of health systems in various countries. He noted that medical errors are the 14th leading cause of death worldwide.
The minister said that the welfare of the patients will be taken care of in all the health institutions of the country. Meanwhile, the minister added that despite the achievements in terms of patient safety, there are many challenges related to drug safety.
He said that everyone’s cooperation is needed to take immediate measures in this regard. Every year on September 17, ‘World Patient Safety Day’ is observed. As part of this, the ministry has launched an awareness campaign in all health institutions in Kuwait.
