Busan, South Korea – Organizers of G-STAR, South Korea’s largest game show, have begun accepting early applications from exhibitors, signaling the start of preparations for the 2026 event. The application window for early registration closes on April 30th, according to an announcement made Tuesday.

G-STAR 2026 is scheduled to run for four days, from November 19th to 22nd, at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO). The event is hosted by the Korea Game Industry Association and co-organized by the G-STAR Organizing Committee and the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency.

Companies that register early will receive a 10% discount on booth fees. General applications will be accepted from May 26th to July 31st. This year, organizers are introducing “Lounge Booths” within the Business-to-Business (B2B) networking lounge area, specifically designed to support business development and networking opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startup companies.

Applications will be accepted starting at 2:00 PM KST on Tuesday through the official G-STAR website. Organizers cautioned that registration may close early if booth space is fully allocated before the application deadline.

A Key Event for the Korean Gaming Industry

G-STAR has long been a pivotal event for the Korean gaming industry, serving as a platform for showcasing new games, forging partnerships, and driving investment. The show attracts developers, publishers, investors, and gamers from around the globe, offering a comprehensive look at the latest trends and innovations in the gaming world. The event is a significant economic driver for Busan, bringing in tourism revenue and boosting the local economy.

New Focus on Supporting SMEs and Startups

The introduction of “Lounge Booths” underscores a growing emphasis on supporting smaller companies within the Korean gaming ecosystem. These dedicated spaces aim to lower the barrier to entry for SMEs and startups, providing them with affordable exhibition options and enhanced networking opportunities. This initiative reflects a broader industry trend towards fostering innovation and competition within the gaming sector.

What to Expect at G-STAR 2026

While the specific lineup of exhibitors and games remains to be seen, G-STAR 2026 is expected to feature a diverse range of titles across various genres, including mobile games, PC games, and console games. Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) gaming experiences are also likely to be prominent, reflecting the increasing popularity of immersive gaming technologies. The B2B networking lounge will provide a dedicated space for business meetings and deal-making, while the public exhibition halls will offer hands-on demos and opportunities for gamers to interact with developers.

The Korean game industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by the success of mobile games and the increasing popularity of esports. According to data from the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the Korean game market generated approximately ₩16.86 trillion (roughly $12.6 billion USD as of March 3, 2026) in revenue in 2025.
