New Delhi The digital ministers of the leading industrialized and emerging countries (G20) were unable to agree on a joint final declaration at their meeting in India because of the dispute over the Ukraine war. Instead, India, the country holding the presidency, published its own summary of the deliberations on Saturday, as it had done at previous G20 meetings.

At the meeting in the city of Bengaluru, most states again strongly condemned Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. They demanded an unconditional withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.

Federal Digital Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) said: “Especially when it comes to cyber security, it became clear again that there can be no return to the agenda. The Russian war of aggression is also being waged online, threatening our interconnected world.” From a digital perspective, the war has had an enormous impact on both companies and public services.
