Employees today want much more flexibility. In the US, access to remote work is reported for the majority of employees (98 million people according to a McKinsey report), according to Deloitte, in 77% of respondents, the desire for greater flexibility in the workplace was the main motivation for changing jobs. All Jobs data says Otherwise, and in an interview with Bizportal, they said that people would be happy to accept ‘hybrid’ conditions, but it is not mandatory and they will not insist on it (for expansion). At the same time, a growing number of employees report feelings of burnout and disconnection as a result of the loneliness of working remotely.

In any case, it is clear that companies try to compensate for incompetence by raising wages in forms such as working from home. At the startup company Gable, they are trying to find a solution that will help both parties. Its users (5,000 so far) report a 5-fold increase in productivity, collaboration, and according to the company, the companies also report an improvement of no less than 75% in the employees’ desire to return to work in the office, while maintaining flexibility.

The platform connects employees in workspaces in 2,000 locations around the world where employees can see which of their colleagues have chosen to work in a certain location and when, to join them in carrying out joint projects or to work side by side as well as invite other employees to work with them. The allocation and selection of the workplaces is done according to a predefined budget. According to Gable, the human resources personnel and company management can use the platform to manage the budgets allocated to workspaces and pay only for the actual use of the workstations, as well as examine the satisfaction of the employees with the location they have chosen.

Gable raised $4 million in a seed round and another $12 million in round A. The participants in both rounds are Ulu Ventures and Foundation Capital (in the seed round) and SemperVirens and Foundation Capital, in round A in which Tishman Speyer Ventures also participated.

The company was founded by CEO Lisa Mash Levin, a former officer in 8200, and Amri Habib (CTO), who worked together as a project manager and development manager at Microsoft. The company was founded in early 2020 and currently employs 16 people.

Lisa Mash Levin, co-founder and CEO of Gable: “Employees want the flexibility to work remotely, but they also want the ability to meet with co-workers. Therefore, employers face difficulty in managing access to workspaces in different locations. And at the same time maintain the budget frameworks and get feedback about how the work spaces are utilized. That’s where Gable comes in.”
