Cologne (NRW) – It’s finally starting again! The world’s largest trade fair for computer and video games starts at the end of August in the Cologne exhibition halls.

One of the highlights is the “Opening Night Live” on August 22nd. Canadian video game journalist Geoff Keighley will host the show from 8pm to 10pm. The spectacle will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Whether and how you can be there at the opening show is yet to be announced.

︎ Computer game fans shouldn’t miss the “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Gamescom 2023 Championship” either, in which the eight best Mario Kart players from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be determined (24 August from 4 p.m.). And the “Splatoon 3 German Championship” (25 August from 3 p.m.) – each at the Nintendo stand in Hall 9.

Gamescom takes place from August 23rd to 28th in the halls of Koelnmesse. On August 23, only trade visitors and holders of a wildcard will have access to the trade fair. Gates open at 9am.

What do tickets cost?

Day tickets for Thursday and Friday cost 27 euros (reduced: 19.50 euros). A day ticket for Saturday costs 36 euros (reduced 28 euros), for Sunday 27 euros (reduced 19.50 euros). The reduced tariff applies to pupils, students, trainees and the severely disabled.

Evening tickets (access from 4 p.m.) are available for 9 euros. Depending on the day of the fair, the family ticket costs between 60 and 75 euros.

Gamescom 2023 tickets must be purchased online.

▶︎ Gamescom tickets are only available in advance and only after prior registration in the online shop. There is no box office. Payment can be made via Paypal or credit card. Unlike in 2022, no Gamescom app is required for purchased tickets, instead tickets are presented as PDFs or stored in the smartphone wallet. In general, there is no longer a Gamescom app for private visitors.

Exhibitor Gamescom 2023

Although Sony Playstation and some major publishers such as Electronic Arts, Activision, Epic Games or Take Two do not officially exhibit in the Entertainment Area, they can be found with their products as subtenants from Microsoft.
