Indonesia had early opportunities to take the lead. Jens Raven’s header in the fifth minute struck the crossbar, denying Garuda Muda an opener.
Vietnam also threatened, with Nguyen van Truong seeing his shot go wide in the 12th minute. Van Truong came close again in the 24th minute, his header from a corner sailing just past the post.
The Indonesian side had a flurry of chances in the first half. Jens Raven’s effort from inside the penalty box was saved by Vietnamese keeper Trung Kien in the 28th minute. Just a minute later, Rayhan Hanan found himself one-on-one with the keeper, but his shot was also parried away.
Despite pushing forward in the second half, Indonesia struggled to break down Vietnam’s defense. No significant scoring opportunities were created by the home team in the latter stages of the match, ultimately leading to their defeat.
