The new tariff will come into effect retroactively from November 1.

“The National Energy Regulatory Agency approves the preliminary tariff provided by the Moldovagaz company,” said Mr. Arame (quoted by RIA Novosti). Members of ANRE will recheck the calculations of “Moldovagaz” until November 30, after which a decision may be made to adjust the tariff.

Moldova faced a gas shortage amid negotiations with Gazprom to extend the contract. The Moldovan authorities announced a “alarm mode” due to the lack of gas. Then the contract was signed. The cost of gas for the republic will be $ 450 per 1,000 cubic meters in November. Under the terms of the contract, gas will rise in price twice as compared to the old formula.
