At the renewed negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Qatar, which are being conducted through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt, compromises have emerged in the positions of the parties.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Interfax, the Axios portal was informed about this by sources close to the negotiation process.

“Both sides came with some compromises and a willingness to negotiate,” said a source with direct knowledge of the start of the negotiations.

The proposal currently being discussed could lead to a six-week ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of 40 female hostages by Hamas, including female soldiers, men over 50 and men in critical condition, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, the sources said. .

Israeli officials said there were still differences between the sides, but Hamas’s response allowed talks to move forward with details of a deal.

The main stumbling blocks, the portal notes, are Israel’s compliance with Hamas’ demands for the safe return of Palestinians to the north of the enclave and for a complete ceasefire in the second stage in exchange for the release of all held Israeli soldiers.

One official familiar with the matter told Axios that the current round of negotiations could take at least two weeks.

“It will be a long, difficult and confusing process, but we want to try to get a deal done,” he said.
