by times news cr

Morocco has welcomed the mediation efforts ‍of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, which led to the agreement. This‍ was stated by‌ Mr.⁤ Bourita during a joint press conference with the‍ Special Representative ‍of⁣ the⁢ Secretary-General ⁤of the‌ United Nations in Libya, Mr. Abdoulaye Bathily, following their talks.

Mr. Bourita ‍emphasized that ‌the Kingdom of Morocco ‌highly⁤ values the significant effort ⁢that resulted in this agreement, which could be a crucial step towards a lasting and verifiable ceasefire.

As highlighted by His Majesty ⁤King Mohammed VI on numerous occasions, most recently ‌during the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit ‍in Riyadh, de-escalation is essential for enabling the delivery of humanitarian aid and becoming part of the process‌ leading towards a lasting ceasefire.

The Kingdom of Morocco believes that this truce will primarily facilitate the delivery of humanitarian‌ aid‍ and alleviate the‌ suffering ⁢of the Palestinian people.

Mr. Bourita noted that the⁣ Middle East region cannot overcome its current challenges⁤ without recognizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state.

He also ‍emphasized that Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty the ⁤King, is committed‌ to finding a lasting solution to the crisis in the Middle East. This requires the international community to move beyond⁢ crisis management and embrace new perspectives to address the underlying issues, ‍including the fulfillment of the Palestinian people’s rights.

Mr. Bourita stressed the need⁣ to⁤ move beyond crisis management and⁣ embrace a genuine political process leading to a two-state solution, ⁣with a⁤ Palestinian state within the ‌1967 borders, and Jerusalem as its capital, existing alongside ⁣an ⁣Israeli state.
