Gazprombank’s clients will be able to pay for goods and services of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs using a QR code through the fast payment system, the press service of the credit organization reports. The first such payment was made on July 1.
According to Dmitry Sauers, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprombank, “the widespread introduction of this technology will not only be well received by customers, but in general will have a positive effect on the further development of payment systems in Russia”.
SBP was launched in Russia on January 28, 2019. It allows individuals to make interbank transfers around the clock using a mobile phone number to themselves or to others. At the same time, all operations, regardless of the settlement of the sender and the recipient of funds, are carried out without commission, if their total amount does not exceed 100,000 rubles. per month. In addition, within the framework of the SBP, the possibility of paying for goods, works and services, including using a QR code, as well as receiving payments from companies has been implemented.
Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded to speed up the introduction of payment by QR codes at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Interfax reported. Systemically important banks should activate this opportunity from October 1, 2021.
