The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, confirmed that the health ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, during a consultative meeting held in Al-Ula Governorate (today, Saturday), discussed ways to develop and improve the Gulf health system, and enhance aspects of integration and interdependence between the countries of the Council in the health field.

Al-Budaiwi reaffirmed the keenness of the Gulf countries to provide comprehensive health care for the Gulf citizen, and for the GCC countries to be at the forefront of distinguished countries in the field of health, considering that such a ministerial meeting aims, through increasing the exchange of Gulf experiences in the medical field, to produce results and decisions that serve In the interest and health of the people of the GCC states.

He said that the meeting discussed health and humanitarian developments in the brotherly Republic of Sudan, due to the current crisis in it, and ways to unify medical and relief efforts to support them. With the great efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its implementation of the largest humanitarian evacuation operations for nationals of many countries.

He revealed the discussion of the outcomes of the first meeting of the Arab drug regulatory bodies and authorities, and the briefing of the health ministers in the GCC countries on developments and the latest developments in relation to the WHO agreement, charter and mechanisms on preparedness, response and prevention of pandemics prepared by the International Negotiating Commission.

Al-Budaiwi took the opportunity to congratulate the leaders and peoples of the Gulf states on the end of the (Corona) pandemic around the world, based on what was officially announced by the World Health Organization, and that the virus no longer constitutes a global emergency.
