Google Unveils Gemini 3: A Leap Forward in AI Reasoning and Accessibility

Google is making a bold claim in the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence: its newly launched Gemini 3 is the company’s “most intelligent model” to date. Unveiled on Tuesday, the new large language model (LLM) promises not only improved reasoning capabilities but also a heightened understanding of user intent, potentially streamlining interactions and boosting productivity.

The core advancement of Gemini 3 lies in its ability to grasp the subtleties of complex tasks. According to a company release, the model is designed to better decipher “the context and intent behind your request,” meaning users should be able to achieve desired outcomes with fewer prompts. This represents a significant step toward more intuitive and efficient AI interactions.

But Gemini 3 isn’t simply a standalone upgrade. Google has integrated the LLM across its product ecosystem, bringing its enhanced capabilities to a wider audience. Notably, Gemini 3 is now live in AI mode within Google Search – a first for the company, launching a new model directly within Search on its release day. However, access is currently limited to subscribers of Google AI Pro and Ultra plans. The update also extends to the Gemini app, AI Studio, Vertex AI, and Google’s agentic development platform, Antigravity.

Google wasted no time in showcasing Gemini 3’s performance, highlighting its leading score in the LMA benchmark with an impressive 1501 Elo rating. This places it ahead of competitors like xAI’s Grok and even its predecessor, Gemini 2.5 Pro. For users demanding even greater processing power, Gemini 3 Deep Think offers enhanced reasoning for the most challenging tasks, demonstrating superior results in demanding tests like the “Humanity’s Last Exam.”

Beyond the core model improvements, Google has also revamped the Gemini app itself. A key addition is the “My Stuff” folder, providing a centralized location for users to access past chats and created documents. The company has also focused on enhancing the shopping experience and is actively experimenting with generative interfaces – dynamic interfaces created by the model in response to user prompts.

Further expanding its functionality, the Gemini Agent is now available, capable of handling multi-step tasks such as appointment scheduling, inbox organization, and online research. This feature aims to transform Gemini from a conversational AI into a proactive digital assistant.

The launch of Gemini 3 signals Google’s continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI, and its widespread integration across key products suggests a future where intelligent assistance is seamlessly woven into the fabric of daily digital life.
