Google seems determined to bring its Gemini AI to every corner of its platform. After landing on mobile phones as a substitute for the Google Assistant, and doing the same in the search engine, it will now also reach Google apps on the web, including Gmail, Google Docs, etc. although with a huge but: it will only be available within Google One AI Premium.
This means that to use the Gemini integration with Google apps you will have to check out. How much exactly? Well, $20 a month is what Google One AI Premium costs, which by the way also provides access to Gemini Advanced with the Ultra 1.0 model.
The good news is that it includes all the advantages of Google One Premium plus the advanced AI functions and its integration with the rest of Google applications, although it does cost twice as much.
Gemini integrates into Google apps with a new premium plan
The Gemini integration is integrated directly into Google apps, without having to go to the search engine or any extra application. You can ask Gemini to write an email in Gmail, create an itinerary for your next trip in Docs, or create a family budget in Sheets. Natively and integrated.
Additionally, this plan includes 2TB of storage, so if you already have One Premim you will be paying exclusively for access to Google’s advanced AI, since this includes extra storage. Also the possibility of sharing with 5 users or Google VPN, among other functionalities. In the case of corporate accounts, the price goes up to $30 per month, and at the moment there is no option to go to an annual subscription with a lower cost per month.
Other details to take into account about this Google One Premim AI is that if you already have an active 5 TB+ plan you can enjoy the AI Premium functions until July 31, 2024, at no additional charge. And if you don’t have an active Google plan, a free two-month trial of AI Premium is available through the plan options of your Google account.
