RA Minister of Economic and Technological Development Gnel Sanosyan received today the delegation led by the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, which also included the Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri.
The minister highly appreciated the friendly relations with Iran and emphasized that the two countries have great potential, a small part of which is realized. There is a need to deepen existing cooperation in a number of areas.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized the need to deepen trade and economic relations with Armenia.
The Iranian minister highlighted the importance of the construction of the north-south road, which will serve as an incentive to develop the existing trade relations between the two countries.
The Iranian side has shown interest in the construction of roads and reservoirs in Armenia. The construction of the Meghri HPP was also discussed, as well as the prospects for deepening the existing cooperation in the energy sector.
The parties also discussed issues aimed at simplifying transit cargo transportation procedures.
The minister emphasized the opportunities of Armenia as a member country of EAEU and noted that Iran can enter the big market of EAEU through Armenia.
A number of other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed during the meeting.
