In order to improve the portfolio of services, the Latacunga General Hospital implemented the area of nephrology, a medical specialty that deals with anatomy, physiology and kidney diseases.
In this context, a new health professional was hired. Mario Santana Bermúdez, a nephrologist, will be in charge of providing care and treatment focused on the specialized and compassionate prevention of patients with kidney diseases.
“The implementation of this service will significantly improve the quality of life of our patients, offering personalized treatment and services that adapt to the patient’s needs,” said Roberto Chiriboga, hospital manager.
Adding this specialty to the hospital expands the portfolio of services for patients with chronic and acute kidney diseases, which will help reduce the risk of complications and hospitalizations.
The Latacunga General Hospital guarantees quality care with specialties such as: gynecology, obstetrics, psychology, psychiatry, pediatrics, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, neonatology and, since this July, the specialty of nephrology has been added.
To access care in this specialty, the user must enter through the first level of care (closest health center) for evaluation and referral to the hospital.
