Genre films nominated for the GOYA 2023

The 37th gala of Goya Awards of the Spanish Film Academy is held in Seville this Saturday, February 11.

Among the nominations are different genre titles that have stood out in 2022.

Thus, the thriller of Rodrigo Sorogoyen the beasts leads the candidacies for the Goya 2023 with 17 nominations; while Model 77of alberto rodriguez has 16.

Carlos Vermouth He is nominated for Best Director for manticorealong with Sorogoyen and Rodríguez.

Barbara Lennie has been nominated in the best actress category for the psychological thriller The crooked lines of God.

As the best leading actor, they compete Denis Menochet (the beasts), Nacho Sanchez (manticore), Javier Gutierrez (Model 77) y Miguel Herran (Model 77).

As far as genre cinema is concerned, in best supporting actress, there are: Mary Columbus (the beasts) y Carmen Machi (little pig). As best supporting actor, among the 5 nominations, are: Diego Anido y Luis Zaheraby the beasts; y Fernando Tejero y Jesus Carrozaby Model 77. As best new actress have been nominated: Laura Galanby little pig; y Zoe Steinby manticore.

In the category of best special effects, the films are nominated: 13 exorcisms, the beasts, Irati, Malnazidos y Model 77.

It is also worth noting the costume design section, in which five genre feature films have been nominated: the beasts, Irati, mercy, The crooked lines of God, Model 77; y Malnazidos.
