At the beginning of September, the Russian aggressors launched another wave of murderous attacks on the people of Ukraine. People died in Poltava, Sumy, Kryvyi Rih and other places of the tested country. According to some observers, it appears as if Russian President Vladimir Putin has chosen to fight civilians because he is aware that he will not achieve final victory on the battlefield.

The most well-known tragedy in the media in recent days took place in Lviv, where a Russian missile with a flat flight path hit a house in Konovalcová street on Wednesday morning. The Bazilevich family of five – husband and wife and their three daughters – were just getting ready to leave.

Forty-eight-year-old Jaroslav was still returning to the apartment. At that moment, he lost his wife Yevhenija (43 years old), daughters Jaryna (21), Daryna (18) and Emilia (7). All died instantly on the spot. A total of seven people died in the city that day and fifty-three others were injured. Lviv, which is not the target of Russian airstrikes as often as cities in eastern Ukraine, was attacked by the Russians last week and on Friday.

The number of victims of Tuesday’s attack on the city of Poltava in the central part of Ukraine rose to six dozen. Two Russian ballistic missiles here hit the military institute of communications, a nearby hospital and damaged residential buildings in the vicinity. “(Putin) is doing this to make Ukrainians very scared and morally exhausted. So they will start demanding negotiations from Ukrainian leaders, ‘because it can’t go on like this,'” Anton Gerashchenko, a former advisor to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, described the cowardly tactic in a post on the X social network .

Figures from the United Nations also confirm this. At least 184 civilians were killed and 856 wounded in Ukraine in August, according to a UN report. After July, it is the month with the second highest number of civilian casualties this year. The vast majority of civilian casualties (91%) and damage to educational and medical facilities (95%) occurred in territory controlled by the Kyiv government.

Gerashchenko claims that further strikes on civilian objects can be expected. “Terrorist Putin believes that he will achieve his goals in this way. In addition, he is well aware that any destruction of infrastructure complicates and prolongs the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and delays economic recovery and the return of people,” Gerashchenko thinks.

According to him, although the Ukrainians are holding their own, it is becoming more and more difficult to survive in these inhumane conditions. He suggests to the Allies that they allow the Ukrainians to destroy the Russian war machine. For example, by closing the sky over Ukraine. “Although ‘Ukrainium’ is the strongest element on the planet, as you sometimes write in the comments, it is also worn out by daily tests,” adds Gerashchenko.

Putin’s hawk went to the bone. His unusually honest words resonated strongly. (Full article with video here)
