Paris: The Indian team struggled to win in the Olympic men’s hockey semi-finals. Germany won 3-2 and qualified for the final.

Team India took on world champions Germany today in the Olympic men’s hockey semi-finals. The Indian team won the toss in this match which started at 10.30 pm.

Captain Harmanpreet scored the first goal for the Indian team in the seventh minute of the match which started with excitement befitting a semi-final.

After that, the German team, who played aggressively, scored their first goal in the 18th minute at the beginning of the second quarter. Germany led 2-1 just before half-time thanks to a goal from Christopher Ruhr.

Sukhjeet Singh scored a goal in the third quarter to give India a 2-2 draw against Germany. In the 54th minute, Marco Miltgau scored another goal to extend Germany’s lead.

Forced to score with only six minutes remaining, the Indian team fought hard till the end. However, Shamsher’s ball went over the target in the last ten seconds. With this, the German team won 3-2 and entered the final.

After this tomorrow at 5.30 pm, the bronze medal match between India and Spain will take place. In the final, the Netherlands and Germany will compete for the gold medal.
