Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin told at the Digital Almaty 2024 forum in Kazakhstan how the Russian GigaChat neural network and the Western ChatGPT differ from each other. According to Mr. Mishustin, the thinking of artificial intelligence reflects the specifics of the country of origin, for this reason, the “brains” of the two neural networks contain “virtually different pictures of the world.”
“Different understandings of what is “good” and what is “bad.” And when allowing AI solutions into critical industries – for example, science, medicine, industry – it is important to use models that meet their own national interests. And we take this into account,” said the Prime Minister (quoted by TASS).
GigaChat is a multimodal model developed by Sber Developer. It can generate texts, answer questions asked by the user, and create images. Its main competitor is ChatGPT, a similar conversational neural network from OpenAI.
