Great demand in the US has triggered an avalanche of additional concerts with Girl In Red. Here at home, she prepares to dance in the capital’s great hall.

- This will be her only concert in Norway in 2024.
- Great demand in the USA and Canada has led to sold-out concerts and extra concerts.
- In 2023, she toured the USA with Taylor Swift, which may have increased interest in the artist from Horten.

Marie Ulven Ringheim (25) – Girl In Red – has just released the single “Too Much”, and will release her second album in April.
In the wake of this, she will tour heavily internationally – and concert venues of a certain size will be needed to meet the demand.
In Norway, there will be a Girl In Red concert in Oslo Spektrum on 3 October. The only one in his home country this year, according to record company Sony and concert organizer All Things Live.
– I want to do something extra for Oslo. I have to find out about something sick, she tells VG on the phone from London, where she has presented her new record to Sony employees from all over Europe.
Live the life
Before that time, she will be on tour in the USA and Canada, in April, May and June.
It was launched last week – to a warm reception.
17 concerts were first announced. 12 is currently sold out. Seven extra concerts have been arranged.

The concert venues vary in capacity from around 3,000 to 10,000 spectators. Several of them iconic, such as Radio City Music Hall in New York and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.
– Yes, it’s fucking cool, says the artist.

She says that the great interest is especially nice because she has been low on releases in recent years.
– I’ve sort of lived life and made new music. It has taken some time. You want to make sure that what you make is good, not just some crap you push out.
Big plans
Last summer, Girl In Red toured the US with Taylor Swift, at eight stadium concerts with around half a million spectators in total.
Maybe not the worst sales to book new concerts with?
– So, I don’t think there has been anyone negative impact, she laughs.
– It is a bit early to say right now what it has meant, commercially speaking. But I don’t doubt that it will be used in a “pitch” here and there, so I bet it’s only good.
In Spektrum on 3 October, she promises to play “the whole new record and well then”.
She further hints that the concert will be very special, in a way she originally intended to do at the Øya Festival in 2022.
– I’ve actually had some big plans for quite some time. But they must be developed a little, it must be said.

The stage design for the upcoming tour has already been thoroughly adjusted, she says – and promises that there will be “crowd surfing” in Spektrum.
– Yes, it’s not like a Girl In Red concert until you’ve surfed a bit!
