Lawyer Rudy Giuliani, the former legal representative of former United States President Donald Trump, has been sentenced to pay a total of 148 million dollars (135 million euros) in damages to two workers whom he accused of rigging the election results in the state of Georgia in 2020.

A popular jury made up of eight people has determined that the magnate’s former lawyer will have to pay each of the workers 16 million for “defamation” and 20 million for “emotional stress”while both will receive 75 million in total for “punitive damages”, has been picked up by CNN.

The two plaintiffs, Ruby Freeman y Shaye Mossboth mother and daughter, filed a lawsuit against Giuliani after the former mayor of New York accused them of rigging the election results to favor the now president, Joe Biden.

The lawyer assured that both were captured on surveillance video passing USB drives to help Biden cheat, although the plaintiffs testified under oath which was actually a mint candy.

Giuliani and Trump are among the 19 people charged for their alleged involvement in a criminal network that aimed to reverse the results of the 2020 elections. Both face a total of 13 state positions.
