by time news

World Glaucoma Week is March 12-18. An eye disease causing progressive destruction of the optic nerve, glaucoma can lead to blindness. It is estimated that after the age of 70, one in 10 people will be affected by this disease. In 30% of cases, transmission is hereditary. Often asymptomatic, the destruction of the optic nerve therefore occurs silently until an advanced stage.
