Glovo opens an office in Bilbao and will invest two million to consolidate in Euskadi

The digital platform Glovo expands its presence in Bilbao with its move to a new office in the Biscayan capital, and will invest more than two million euros until the end of 2022 for its expansion and consolidation in the Basque Country, as reported yesterday in a statement. Specifically, the new space welcomes the team of more than 25 professionals who are in charge of managing Glovo’s strategy for the north.

This new operations center will serve a large area where the Glovo application is available in more than 75 cities in the Basque Country, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Aragon and Navarra, among others.

The director of the North-Central area of ​​the company in Spain, Ramón López-Doriga, will be in charge of directing this center. «We are very happy to open our fifth office in Spain. We have chosen Bilbao for being an enterprising city, with a vision of the future and that is committed to technological innovation. We want to continue positioning the north of Spain and the country as a whole as a technological benchmark in Europe », he pointed out.

Currently, the company operates in almost 400 cities throughout Spain, already reaching 80% coverage of the country. In this regard, the general director of Glovo for Spain and Portugal, Diego Nouet, highlighted that his expansion strategy has focused in the last year on medium and small cities. “And we are going to continue working in 2022 to continue expanding our presence throughout the country. In this way, both restaurants and establishments will be able to join the ‘delivery’ sector and enjoy all the Glovo options in their city”, he stressed.
