Kozhikode: The 23-member Gokulam women’s team to play in the AFC Club Championship has been announced. There are eight Malayali players in the team. To participate in the championship to be held in Uzbekistan from the 20th of this month, Gokulam will return to Kerala tomorrow under the leadership of Mike White, a native of England, and head coach Priya. There are four foreign players in the team. This is the second time that Gokulam is participating in the AFC Women’s Club Championship. Malabarians’ first match is against Uzbek club Sogdiana on 23rd. Then on 26th Iran Club will face Bam Khatoon. Gokulam had to play only two matches when the Jordan club, which was in the group, withdrew. Goalkeepers: Beatrice Nithwa Keita, Soumya Narayanaswamy, Anjana Sekia.
