Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold in the country’s market by Tk 1 thousand 878 per bar. Bajus reduced the price of gold for eight consecutive days. This time, due to the price reduction, a lot of good quality i.e. 22 carat gold will be available for 1 lakh 9 thousand 163 taka. The new prices will be effective from Friday (May 3). On Thursday (May 2), gold was sold at Tk 1 lakh 11 thousand 41 per load.

This information was informed in the press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee on Thursday. According to Bajus, the price of acid gold has decreased in the local market. The new price of gold has been fixed keeping in view the overall situation.

As per the new prices, the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) is priced at Tk 1 lakh 9163, 21 carat gold at Tk 1 lakh 4195, 18 carat gold at Tk 89 thousand 311 and conventional gold at Tk 74 It will be sold for 276 thousand rupees.

The price of gold has been reduced but the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, currently the price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, the price of 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, the price of 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and the price of traditional silver is 1 thousand 283 taka.

Today, 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) is sold at Tk 1 lakh 11 thousand 41, 21 carat gold at Tk 1 lakh 6 thousand 2, 18 carat gold at Tk 90 thousand 863 and traditional method gold at Tk 75 thousand 559.
