jpnn.com – Google adds to the list of employees who have been fired. In total there are more than 50 people.

Google employees who were fired for being involved in demonstrations defending Palestine or rejecting the technology company’s contracts with the Israeli government and military.

A Google spokesperson has confirmed the additional firings, following an investigation into the April 16 demonstrations involving the occupation of Google offices in New York City and Sunnyvale.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai explained the company’s reasons for the dismissal, namely that employees were prohibited from using the company as a personal platform, or using it to protest disruptive issues or political debates.

However, according to the spokesperson for the “No Tech for Apartheid” demonstration Jane Chung, the dismissal was carried out to silence employees.

“The company tries to stifle dissent, silence workers and assert its power over employees,” Chung said.

No Tech for Apartheid is a group that has been protesting Google and Amazon’s contracts with the Israeli government since 2021.

The employee demonstration was Project Nimbus. This has been done for years.
