The Google Pixel 11 has been unveiled, positioning it as the primary Android rival to the Samsung Galaxy S26. While the Galaxy S26 has been available for several months, the Pixel 11 is currently available only via pre-order. Both flagship devices enter the market with a starting price of $899, featuring 256GB of storage and 12GB of memory.
Direct Competition in the Android Market
Processing Power and AI Integration
The two devices utilize different architectural approaches to processing and artificial intelligence. The Pixel 11 is powered by the blog.google, which Google describes as its fastest and most powerful chip to date. This custom chipset includes an upgraded CPU that enables 15% quicker app launches and 25% faster web browsing. To handle AI tasks, the Tensor G6 incorporates 50% more TPU compute and the latest Gemini Nano model, allowing on-device AI tasks to be processed up to 3.5 times faster while utilizing up to 3.5 times less energy.
In contrast, the Galaxy S26 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, a chipset optimized specifically for Samsung’s hardware. While the Tensor G6 represents a significant upgrade over the previous Tensor G5, experts have expressed disappointment regarding the chipset’s capabilities, according to Mashable.
Hardware Specifications and Design
Both smartphones feature 6.3-inch displays with 120Hz refresh rates, though they use different panel technologies: the Pixel 11 utilizes an OLED display, while the Galaxy S26 uses an AMOLED display. Storage options for both models include 256GB or 512GB, paired with 12GB of RAM.

Physical differences are more pronounced in weight and battery capacity. The Pixel 11 is 0.1 inches taller than the Galaxy S26 and carries a 4,985 mAh battery. The Galaxy S26 is nearly a full ounce lighter than the Pixel 11 and features a smaller 4,300 mAh battery.
Camera Capabilities and Video
Both devices employ a four-camera system consisting of one selfie camera and three rear-facing cameras. The hardware specifications differ as follows:

- Wide-angle: The Galaxy S26 features a 50MP camera, while the Pixel 11 has a 48MP camera.
- Ultrawide: The Pixel 11 uses a 13MP camera, compared to the 12MP ultrawide camera on the Galaxy S26.
- Video: The Galaxy S26 is capable of recording in 8K, whereas the Pixel 11 is limited to 4K recording.
Security and Privacy
Google has integrated the Tensor G6 with a new Titan M3 security chip to create a proactive defense system. This integration introduces post-quantum cryptography to the device’s secure boot to protect against advanced attacks and future risks from quantum computers. Additionally, a report by Counterpoint Research indicates that the AI experience on Pixel provides the most privacy protection available on a phone.
