The comprehensive strategy seeks to promote scientific research processes, development of nature tourism with community participation, and improvements in the conditions of visitors and residents of the park. The Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Susana Muhamad, announced in a press conference at the Casa de Nariño that 11 billion pesos will be allocated for a center for research and improvements in environmental education and tourism.

The director of National Natural Parks, Luisz Olmedo Martínez, emphasized the importance of knowledge management to promote conservation and participation in the care of the park. It is expected to host more researchers with better means to strengthen the protection of Gorgona Island.
Regarding the measures of the National Environmental License Authority (ANLA), it is established that The works will be carried out in compliance with strict environmental protocols, including the installation of solar panels and the replacement of asbestos roofs. Additional measures will be implemented during humpback whale watching, such as restricting dock construction and the presence of marine wildlife observers.
