This initiative in the Gorgona Island National Park includes the installation of a radar operated by the National Government to combat drug trafficking and illegal fishing in the area.

The comprehensive strategy seeks to promote scientific research processes, development of nature tourism with community participation, and improvements in the conditions of visitors and residents of the park. The Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Susana Muhamad, announced in a press conference at the Casa de Nariño that 11 billion pesos will be allocated for a center for research and improvements in environmental education and tourism.

Regarding the measures of the National Environmental License Authority (ANLA), it is established that The works will be carried out in compliance with strict environmental protocols, including the installation of solar panels and the replacement of asbestos roofs.
