After almost three years of break since the end of ‘Modern Family’, Sofía Vergara will return to the screens with the miniseries ‘Griselda’. This is a production that will recreate the life of the renowned drug trafficker, Griselda Blanco, also known as ‘The Godmother of Cocaine’.
This has become one of the most anticipated series of the year after the success of ‘Narcos’ and its spin-offs. A large part of the production team, such as the scriptwriters and technicians, participated in these productions, so it is expected that they will manage the narrative of this new miniseries very well.
In her role as producer, Sofía Vergara assured, for USA Today, that in the series they were very careful not to show the character of Griselda as someone who should be glorified. She stated that even though it is an impressive story, she does not want people who watch the series to aspire to be like her.
When does Griselda premiere in Colombia?
The miniseries will come to Netflix next Wednesday, January 25 and will be available in Colombia from the same date. It is a fictionalized dramatization of 6 episodes with a duration of approximately one hour each. These will tell how Griselda became Pablo Escobar’s right hand.
In addition to Sofía Vergara, other renowned Colombian actors will be in the production such as Diego Trujillo, Christian Tappán and Julieth Restrepo. Even within the cast will be Karol G, which has generated great expectations regarding the possibility of seeing the artist develop as an actress.
