Police Region Mitt is located in the middle of the country with its headquarters in Uppsala. Operations in the region are organized in three police areas: Uppsala, Västmanland and Gävleborg, which together are divided into eight local police areas. Furthermore, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit and the investigation unit, a regional office and national departments that are represented in the region to provide support to police operations.

Police area Uppsala is one of the police areas in region Mitt with Uppsala as the main city. The area stretches from Håbo in the south to Älvkarleby in the north. The geographical area includes 8 municipalities. Police area Uppsala is divided into three local police areas: Uppsala/Knivsta, Enköping/Håbo and Norduppland. At police area level, there is an investigation section and an area office.

The investigation section in the Uppsala police area is organized into serious crimes, crimes in a close relationship and crimes against children, detective operations, seizure operations, case and crime coordination, as well as groups with the functions of administration, on-call pre-trial investigation management and investigation call. The investigation section has a joint police area mission and investigates crimes within the entire police area. We are now looking for a group manager for investigation 2 who wants to continue to develop and lead the work within the investigation section together with other group managers.

Job description

As a group manager, you report to the section manager and are part of the investigation section’s management team, where you are jointly responsible for completing assignments and driving the agency’s change and development work. You have particular responsibility for the police area’s case coordination, international operational handling as well as preliminary investigation management and investigation according to the accelerated prosecution method. In the role, you collaborate with other business branches locally, regionally and nationally. As a group leader, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • at least 6 months of continuous experience of having worked as a supervisor, project manager or similar in the last five-year period
  • experience in leading others towards set goals and results
  • experience of participating in change and development work
  • experience in investigative activities within the police authority
  • police degree or other education and work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • We consider it meritorious if, in addition to this, you also have:

  • included in management forum
  • managerial and leadership training for direct, indirect or strategic level
  • experience in preliminary investigation management
  • experience of participating in/cooperating with social actors outside the police organization/own organization.
