Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 Back Code Update Announced

Fighting game fans have been asking for this for years, and the day has finally come.

In place of the new Guilty Gear Strive character, Arc System Works has announced that undo code will be coming to Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator in CEO Taco 2022.

No, you are not dreaming. Latency-based Netplay from nearly a decade ago will soon be replaced by Xrd, so hopefully, you won’t have to worry anymore about lag – and dropping groups because of it.

There is currently no firm release date for Xrd to receive the full return update, but players will have to test it out very soon.

The developers will release a public back test sometime in late October for PC similar to how they’ve tested beta versions of previous games, but it hasn’t been confirmed if the big patch will also make its way to the PlayStation 4 version of REV2 and Revelator.

ArcSys is definitely sticking to its goal of modernizing old fighting games with better online play with Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Dragon Ball FighterZ all getting their upgrades or currently going to do so.

That basically leaves Granblue Fantasy: Versus as the only one unfortunately, but now hopefully it’s an indication that the company’s tech wizards are completing the entire throwback roster and establishing themselves as fighting game legends.
