jpnn.comJAKARTA – Gus Miftah emphasized that he had never mentioned the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) regarding the use of speakers during the fasting month.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Ora Aji Sleman Islamic Boarding School in response to the statement by the Ministry of Religion spokesperson who called him an asshole and failed to understand the use of speakers during the fasting month.

“The Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, don’t get emotional, look at Abah’s speech (Gus Miftah’s nickname), there wasn’t anything shown to the Ministry of Religion, right, there wasn’t any. Why are you getting excited by saying abah asbun (original sound),” he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Gus Miftah firmly stated that he had nothing to say in his lecture regarding the Ministry of Religion’s circular letter.

“So, once again I emphasize, Gus Miftah never mentioned the Indonesian Ministry of Religion’s circular regarding loudspeakers because it was not only the Minister of Religion who suggested limiting speakers,” he explained.

For the sake of Ramadan, he said, the use of speakers should continue to restore the atmosphere of the fasting month in the olden days.

“However, everyone still has to have limits on the use of speakers. Say until 22.00, use outdoor speakers. The excitement of Ramadan must be returned to what it was like in our parents’ childhood, so that you can feel the feel of Ramadan,” he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Religion highlighted Gus Miftah’s lecture in Bangsri, Sukodono, Sidoarjo, East Java, a few days ago, because he criticized the Ministry of Religion’s circular regarding the appeal to use speakers during Ramadan.

Gus Miftah said he had never mentioned the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) regarding the use of loudspeakers during the fasting month.
