RA Minister of High-tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan received the delegation led by Honorary Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technologies of Bangladesh Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak thanked for the reception, noted that they are in Armenia for the first time with a large delegation. At the invitation of the minister, they have come to participate in the World Conference on Information Technologies (“WCIT 2019”), in addition, they aim to get acquainted with our country’s programs in the high-tech sector, ecosystem the steps towards development, to discuss the possibilities of cooperation.
Minister Hakob Arshakyan welcomed the members of the delegation, after which he presented the scope of the Ministry’s activities and the priorities, plans and goals of our country in the technological sphere.
The minister emphasized that the activity of the ministry is unfolding in three main directions: digitization, military industry and ecosystem development. On the basis of these three components, the strategy of the ministry for the next five years was drawn up and is being developed.
Hakob Arshakyan presented some details regarding the works carried out in each direction. He referred to the scientific achievements of Armenian specialists in the technological field, the existing potential, emphasized the achievements of Armenian engineers in radio physics, microelectronics and other fields even in the Soviet years.
The minister also mentioned the importance of education and learning, which is primary for every Armenian family, so education and talent are a component of Armenia’s ecosystem.
Hakob Arshakyan also presented the Armenian model for the development of startups, noted the successes of Armenian startup companies that have already achieved world fame.
The minister also informed the guests about the “Digitech Expo” held in parallel with the World Conference of Information Technologies and invited them to visit the exhibition.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak noted that it is very important for them to recognize Armenia and to develop mutually effective ways of cooperation.
In his turn, he presented the potential of his country in the technological sphere, the steps and goals aimed at the development of the ecosystem and digital technologies.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak also emphasized that Bangladesh is a very big market where Armenian startups can invest their ideas and very good results can be registered from the cooperation of the two countries. Therefore, it is very important that a window for future cooperation be opened today.
Minister Hakob Arshakyan added that the Armenian side is developing its ties and is ready for cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to form a working group, where specialists of the countries will discuss and consider the directions and possibilities of cooperation.
