A senior Hamas official, Ghazi Hamad, has recently declared that the terror group will continue carrying out devastating attacks on Israel until the country is completely destroyed. In an interview with Lebanese television, Hamad expressed his determination to replicate the coordinated terror attack known as Operation al-Aqsa Flood, which took place earlier this month and resulted in the deaths of over 1,400 Israelis and the abduction of 240 hostages.

Hamad, a member of Hamas’ decision-making political bureau, asserted that his organization possesses the resolve, determination, and capabilities necessary to wage an ongoing fight against Israel. He stated, “The al-Aqsa Flood is just the first time and there will be a second, a third, a fourth because we have the determination, the resolve, and the capabilities to fight.”

The Hamas official emphasized that the group is prepared to pay any cost to achieve its objectives. “We are called a nation of martyrs and are proud to sacrifice martyrs,” Hamad proclaimed. “Israel is a country that has no place on our land. We must remove that country because it constitutes a security, military, and political catastrophe to the Arab and Islamic nations, and it must be finished.”

Hamad further reiterated Hamas’ determination to teach Israel a lesson, stating, “We must teach Israel a lesson, and we will do this again and again. We are not ashamed to say this, with full force.”

The official justified the attack on Israel, referring to the creation of the Jewish state in 1948 as the cause of pain, bloodshed, and tears. He claimed that Hamas, as the victims of occupation, should not be held responsible for their actions. “Therefore, nobody should blame us for the things we do. Everything we do is justified,” he affirmed.

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the US and European Union due to its involvement in suicide bombings and rocket attacks. The Gaza Strip, home to 2.3 million people, has been under an Israeli and Egyptian blockade for security reasons since Hamas gained power in 2007.

While Hamad expressed these threats before Israeli forces launched a ground incursion targeting Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the conflict has already resulted in a significant loss of life. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, almost 8,800 Palestinians, including 3,648 children, have been killed by Israeli forces since the outbreak of war. However, the US has accused Hamas of exaggerating the death toll.

As tensions continue to escalate, the international community faces the urgent task of resolving the conflict and preventing further loss of life in the region.
