Harassment of asylum inmates: Malayali couple arrested

Chennai ∙ 7 persons including a Malayali couple were arrested on the complaint of beating and torturing the inmates at the Asaran Centre.

B.Jubin and his wife J.Maria, natives of Muvattupuzha, who run an organization called ‘Anpujyoti Ashram’, were arrested in Gundalapuliyur village near Vikravandi in Villupuram district and 5 other people were arrested. In addition to allegations of inmates being chained and attacked with a monkey, there have also been complaints of torture.

Salim Khan’s father-in-law Jabarullah, who works in the US, has been living here since December 2021. A year later, he was nowhere to be found.
