Hässleholm’s Political Rule Shows Cracks Following Viking Drama

by time news

M and KD stated in a press release on Friday that cooperation can only continue with trust, which no longer exists. Lina Bengtsson (M) told SVT Nyheter Skåne that the solution requires either SD to change and sacrifice Hanna Nilsson, or M and KD to seek a new majority in the municipal council to take over the management of Hässleholm. To get a new majority, they need to cooperate with the Social Democrats and at least one other party. A new majority cannot be created until Monday, when a municipal council meeting is held. Lina Bengtsson also said that they have contacted the Social Democrats.

The controversy began when Hanna Nilsson (SD), the chairman of the municipal board in Hässleholm, and a colleague of hers reported Oddvar Lönnerkrantz, who owns Vittfarna’s Viking village outside Sösdala, to the police for trying to pressure the municipality to buy the Viking village. Lönnerkrantz claims that Hanna Nilsson tried to hire him and his friend Nils Nihlén, who also live in the Viking village, as torpedoes. He also published recordings of conversations he had with Hanna Nilsson where she calls officials idiots and slanders politicians in the municipality. Hanna Nilsson denies the accusations and claims she said those things because she felt afraid.

A week ago, M and KD demanded an action plan from SD to continue working together. Hanna Nilsson stated that she will not resign at the moment and will only do so when KF has created a new majority. Ulf Berggren, the Sweden Democrats’ group leader in Hässleholm, was also sought for comment by SVT Nyheter Skåne.

Additionally, a video clip was included in the article featuring Viking enthusiasts who believed that Hanna Nilsson wanted to hire them as torpedoes.

– There must be trust for continued cooperation and there is no longer there, write M and KD in a press release that was sent out on Friday afternoon.

Lina Bengtsson (M) tells SVT Nyheter Skåne that there are two options for a solution. Either SD changes and sacrifices Hanna Nilsson, or M and KD seek a new majority in the municipal council to take over the management of Hässleholm. To get a new majority, they need to cooperate with the Social Democrats and at least one other party.

As early as Monday, there is a municipal council meeting. Until then, a new majority will not be able to be created, according to Lina Bengtsson, who says that they have already contacted the Social Democrats.

Torpedo allegations and secret recordings

It was last week that Hanna Nilsson (SD), chairman of the municipal board in Hässleholm, and a party colleague of hers reported Oddvar Lönnerkrantz, who owns Vittfarna’s viking village outside Sösdala, to the police. She believes that he tried to pressure the municipality to buy the Viking village.

Lönnerkrantz claims for his part that Hanna Nilsson tried to hire him and his friend Nils Nihlén, who also live in the Viking village, as torpedoes. Oddvar Lönnerkrantz has also published recordings from conversations he had with Hanna Nilsson where she calls officials idiots and slanders politicians in the municipality. She says, among other things, that they lied in court about matters concerning the Viking village.

Hanna Nilsson has rejected the accusations that she tried to use the “Vikings” as torpedoes, and believes that the things she said in the recordings she said when she felt afraid. She has said what she thought he wanted to hear, she claims.

M and KD demanded an action plan

A week ago, M and KD announced that they require an action plan from SD in order to continue working together.

Hanna Nilsson (SD) does not want to appear for an interview, but writes in a message that she will not resign at the moment.

“I can only answer that I will of course resign when KF has created a new majority. I have full confidence from my party and it is SD and not someone else who decides who will lead SD Hässleholm. I will return to work on Monday so that the municipality will have a good transition until a new majority is appointed,” she writes.

SVT Nyheter Skåne is also looking for Ulf Berggren, the Sweden Democrats’ group leader in Hässleholm, for a comment.
