On June 4, the first session of the party council was held under the leadership of Artur Vanetsyan, chairman of the “Homeland” party. Questions related to the socio-political agenda, the formation of the territorial structures of the party and the organization of their work were discussed.
The council of the “Homeland” party adopted a statement condemning the next uncalculated action of the government and demanding the withdrawal of the shameful project that increases the tax burden of Armenian citizens, the party informs.
“In the conditions of the deep crisis in the Republic of Armenia, the Government has taken an initiative to implement changes in the tax code, according to which it is proposed to change the principle of property tax calculation by approximating the cadastral and market values of real estate. As a result of the legislative change, the revenues of local self-government bodies will increase more than four times, which actually means a significant increase in the financial burden of citizens.
At the current stage, when as a result of the coronavirus epidemic and the incompetent actions of Nikol Pashinyan’s government, the state has found itself in a health, economic and social crisis, when tens of thousands of jobs are actually being cut, citizens’ incomes and savings are decreasing, when there is a sense of uncertainty about tomorrow, “Motherland ” party considers such a way of working as outdated and unacceptable and demands the government to refrain from making the above-mentioned changes in the tax code, from the policy of further worsening the financial and social condition of our citizens.
The mentioned changes will have a negative impact not only on our citizens, but will also reduce the attractiveness of Armenia for potential repatriates and foreign investors, will lead to an even deeper collapse of the real estate market,” the statement said.
