The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Adven Latvia” in Cēsis will decrease by 41.9% – to 85.42 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). At the end of the term of the supply contracts for fuel resources, “Adven Latvia” organized public procurement for the conclusion of a new contract for the supply of wood chips and natural gas. As a result, the merchant has chosen the lowest price offers for future deliveries of wood chips and natural gas, significantly reducing the thermal energy tariff for users.

The thermal energy tariff of AS “Daugavpils siltumtīkli” will decrease by 39.8% and will be 79.88 euros per MWh. The heat energy tariff has decreased due to the decrease in the price of both fuel and purchased heat energy. The cost of fuel included in the merchant’s tariff and the cost of purchased thermal energy make up the largest part of the total cost – 80.8%.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Adven Sigulda” in Sigulda will decrease by 26% – to 99.61 euros per MWh. At the end of the term of the natural gas supply contract, the merchant made a public procurement, as a result of which a new natural gas supply contract was concluded at a significantly lower price of natural gas.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Valmieras udes” will decrease by 24.1% and will be 90.55 euros per MWh. The reduction of the tariff is related to the drop in the cost of purchased thermal energy. The costs of the purchased thermal energy included in the merchant’s tariff make up the largest part of the total costs – 87.6%. The merchant purchases heat energy from three heat energy producers, including AS “Valmieras enerģija” and AS “Valmieras piens”. PUPC has approved significantly lower tariffs for the production of heat energy for the two mentioned heat energy producers.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Jūrmalas siltums” will decrease by 21.2% and by June 30 it will be 92.36 euros per MWh instead of the previous 119.22 euros per MWh, while from July 1 the tariff will decrease by another 0.9% – to 91 .5 euros per MWh. At the end of the fuel supply contracts, the merchant held a public procurement, concluding a new natural gas and wood chip supply contract at a significantly lower price.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Aizkraukles siltums” will be 20.1% lower – 81.61 euros per MWh. The tariff decreased due to both the decrease in the price of natural gas and the decrease in the cost of purchased thermal energy. Taking into account the trends in the market, the merchant revised the supply contracts of both purchased resources. The cost of fuel included in the merchant’s tariff and the cost of purchased thermal energy make up the largest part of the total costs – 87.5%.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Bauskas siltums” will be 88.06 euros per MWh, which is 20.7% less. The tariff changes are related to the revision of the price of wood chips and the conclusion of a new natural gas supply contract.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Salaspils siltums” in Salaspils and Saulkalne will be 71.81 euros per MWh, which is a decrease of 8.6% compared to the current one. The tariff decreased due to the lower price of natural gas. With the entry into force of the new tariffs, this will be the seventh time that the merchant has changed the heat supply tariff during this heating season, that is, since October 2022.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Jēkabpils siltums” will be 108.38 euros per MWh, which is 4.5% less than the current one. The thermal energy tariff decreased due to the decrease in the price of natural gas, as well as the increase in revenues from the sold electricity, which allows to reduce the costs attributable to the production of thermal energy.

The thermal energy tariff of SIA “Gren Gulbene” will be 88.6 euros per MWh, which is a decrease of 5.1%. The reduction of the thermal energy tariff is related to a lower price of wood chips, which the merchant revised at the time when the decline in the price of wood chips was observed on the market. The merchant produces the entire amount of thermal energy using wood chips.

On the other hand, the thermal energy tariff of SIA “Gren Jelgava” will be 77.32 euros per MWh instead of the previous 87.73 euros per MWh, which is 11.9% less. The reduction in the tariff is related to both the reduction in the cost of the purchased thermal energy from the “Gren Latvia” cogeneration station, which uses wood chips in production, and the reduction in the price of natural gas, as a result of concluding a new natural gas supply contract as a result of public procurement.

For users of Ikškile, the thermal energy tariff will decrease by 18.1% – to 105.11 euros per MWh instead of the previous 128.31 euros per MWh. The tariff reduction is related to the decrease in the price of natural gas on the stock exchange. In the case of “Ikškile majes”, this is the sixth reduction in the tariff, since relatively rapid changes in natural gas prices have been observed in the market.

PUK also emphasizes that from May the state support for the compensation of the increase in heat energy tariffs will end. Accordingly, heat supply merchants will apply the heat energy tariff approved by PUK to the users in full.
