Al Ain: Heavy rains in various parts of UAE on Wednesday. The National Meteorological Center had already declared a red alert in some areas including Al Ain. Apart from Al Ain, Al Tiwaya, Al Qatara, Nahil, Bada bint Saud and Al Amira all received heavy rain. Orange alert was in place in some areas and yellow alert in some places.

Some areas of Al Ain experienced heavy rain accompanied by hail. Meanwhile, in Al Ain, a youth was injured when his vehicle fell into a water pond. The incident happened in Wadi Sah. It is reported that he lost control of the four-wheel drive vehicle that he was driving while trying to capture the scenes of the water puddle formed by the heavy rain.

Abu Dhabi Police said his attention was not on the road as he was trying to film the water flowing in the valley. Officials also said they had already warned against traveling to risk-prone areas in Al Ain, including Wadi Zah, which is flooded during rainy season.

In case of continued bad weather, the authorities asked the public to be extremely cautious and follow the speed limit posted on the electronic information boards on the roads. Take all precautions for your own safety and the safety of others on the road. Capturing photos or videos on a mobile phone while driving can be distracting.
